About Wajima-nuri and Chinkin Experience
We have opened a Chinkin experience corner at Urushitoho Araki to make traditional crafts more accessible to visitors.
You can try Chinkin crafting even if you are only one person.
Chinkin is one of the representative decoration techniques used for lacquerware and lacquer crafts,
Chinkin is a traditional technique to express designs and patterns on the surface of lacquer ware and lacquer crafts by using a thin and sharp chisel.
Memories of your trip
In a different and relaxing time, you will be able to experience the depth of the traditions that live in the Noto region.
You can take home your work as it is.
You can put your own design on your favorite products such as lacquered chopsticks and name plate with Chinkin mark.
How about making your one and only original product as a memory of your trip?
The proprietress will kindly and carefully instruct you, even if you are a first-timer.
Children can also participate in the workshop.
Children can also enjoy the experience of Chinkin process of Wajima-nuri.
Children as young as 5 years old are welcome to participate if accompanied by their mother or father.
